About me

My name is Christopher Breninek.
I'm an egyptologist with ten years expierence of field work gathered in three different countries. Already during my studies, digital archaeology became more and more the focus of my work, so I decided to add a degree in archaeoinformatics to my career. I think digital archaeology opens up new possibilities to collect and process data, share our knowledge with each other and it contributes significantly to broadening our understanding of the human past. My endeavor is to discover this past and to preserve it for future generations.

Projects

Heliopolis Project

since 2012

The task here, in the center of Matareya/Cairo, is to investigate the history of egypt's largest temple ever existed.

Temple of Amenhotep IIIrd

2018-2019

Target here was the photogrammetric documentation of hundrets of small architectural objects and the digital reconstruction of various statues.

Routes of interarction

since 2018

Here, we want to investigate the intercultural communication and connectivity of the various indigenous peoples of the 2nd and 1st millennium BCE.

Project Dahshur

since 2019

This excavation and conservation project works at several mastabas from the old kingdom as well as different superstructures surrounding the Bent Pyramid.
